Number of Hits Mode Overview
In number of hits mode shooters will be able to configure how many hits are required on each target in order to complete the exercise. In this mode, time is unlimited, and optionally, ammo can be limited. A hit factor is then calculated based on the number of hits, number of misses, and time elapsed. This closely mirrors the scoring calculations used in competition shooting such as the IPSC or USPSA and is intended to provide practice for such events.
Additionally, a random start time option is available to help mirror the uncertainty of when a buzzer will sound in competition (and similarly, help sharpen reactionary skills in defensive situations).
The main intention of this event is to help shooters learn to engage multiple targets accurately and quickly.
Hit Factor Calculation
A hit factor is calculated by taking the (number of hits x 5 points – number of misses * 10 points) / time in seconds elapsed to complete the exercise.
